The Dow Chemical Company has a tremendous _part-time_ cooperative education job opportunity available in Midland, MI for a qualified and highly-committed college student enrolled in a college or university_ located very close_to the Midland Dow site. Unlike a short-term internship project outside of school terms, this particular role is a long-term, year-round, undergraduate student position -- for _at least_ a full year in duration -- _while_the student is simultaneously taking classes toward an undergraduate degree. This__opportunity will begin at the beginning of August and offers the student valuable professional work experience in a dynamic, multi-national corporation interfacing with colleagues and leaders in many different roles. This program is for the academically successful,__best students who meet ALL of the specific job _and_ co-op program requirements listed below and who can _simultaneously_succeed both in school and in a professional work environment.
JOB PURPOSE
This position exists to support the Research & Development (R&D;) efforts in the Food & Nutrition group and to support critical customer-generated projects.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create prototype food products based on established recipes
Analyze products
Document and communicate results
Work on customer-generated projects across a broad range of food-based applications and technologies
## Qualifications
REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be pursuing a SCIENCE major
Must have some LABORATORY EXPERIENCE
Computer skills are essential, particularly in using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently on job responsibilities but in collaboration and support of the greater team
Communication skills -- both verbal and written -- are key in this role for reporting and presenting results
Attention to detail, accuracy and complete follow-through of responsibilities is necessary
Must be motivated, reliable and trustworthy
Compliance with all safety and quality best practices is critical
CRITICAL _REQUIREMENTS_ OF THE LOCAL STUDENT CO-OP PROGRAM
High school diploma or GED and _already_ enrolled at a college or university located close to the Midland Dow site, pursuing an _undergraduate_degree.
Successfully _complete_a minimum of 6 credit hours per term during Fall and Winter terms _( Sept-Apr)_.
High performing student with strong GPAs of 3.000 + ; however, a minimum__2.700 + term _and_ cumulative__GPA on a 4.000 scale is required at ALL times - both to enter _and to continue_working__in the Dow co-op program. Attach a screen capture from your school's website or a copy of your most recent transcripts/grade report showing classes and recent GPA to this application. Eligibility to continue in this cooperative education program is checked every term.
Able to start working at the beginning of August and work year-round _at least_ 20 hours each week ONLY during our regular__business hours _(8am-5pm, Mon-Frimax 8 hours/day and 30/week during school)._
Commit to the role for _at least_ 1 full calendar year (BEFORE completing classes for your stated undergraduate degree or BEFORE transferring out of the area). Students available _longer than one year_before completing their degree program are preferred and advantaged.
Reliable attendance and punctuality in commuting to work _daily or at least _3_ days a week_; therefore, dependable transportation, dedication and time management skills are absolutely required._ _
Registered/enrolled in the school''s Cooperative Education Program before the first day at Dow and comply with the school's policies/requirements, in addition to Dow''s, for the duration of co-op employment.
Any current Dow college co-ops wishing to transfer into this role must have been in their current role _at least_ one full year, must have _at least_ one full year left before graduating or transferring out of the area, and must have supervisor approval__before applying to _each_ Dow co-op job posting.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
