## Description
The Dow Chemical Company is seeking a qualified individual for an internship opportunity in the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S;) Remediation group. This position is located in Midland, Michigan for Summer 2014.
The Environmental Health & Safety Intern will work with a variety of toxicologist and environmental professionals to:
Support business-oriented toxicology programs within Toxicology & Environmental Research and Consulting (TERC) organization,
Develop and compile toxicological and environmental data and information to support product safety assessments,
Help define and assess the health and environmental risks posed by Dow products, processes and wastes,
Develop communication documents, which describes health and safety properties and characteristics of a chemical substance.
The intern will also support the Product Sustainability Consultant team's broader initiatives while gaining an in depth understanding of The Dow Chemical Company's product stewardship and sustainability efforts.
The candidate must have a strong ability to solve complex problems with limited oversight. The person should have a willingness to gather data and make recommendations to improve business operations and internal customer satisfaction, have the ability to create and expand on ideas, and be able to think creatively in terms of long term goals and targets.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Biology, or related major.
Students must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.700 or higher on a 4.000 scale.
A minimum requirement for a US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis.
