Areas in Public Affairs & Government Affairs
Business Public Affairs - Communicators help position and promote Dow products and services to key customers and markets.
Corporate Public Affairs - Communicators enhance Dow's brand and reputation by communicating with key stakeholders such as employees and the media.
Geographic/Site Public Affairs - Communicators build relationships and provide advocacy on Dow's behalf in Dow communities around the world.
Customer & Business Events - Professionals go beyond business meetings and phone calls to provide an atmosphere that allows for relationship building with strategic customers and team members.
Dow offers internships each year through the National Student Program (NSP). This program is very competitive and equips students with first-hand knowledge of what it takes to effectively communicate, build reputation and facilitate organizational success for a global company.
The Dow Public Affairs & Government Affairs Internship Program is directed at university or college students who are entering their junior year or beyond.
Offered through the National Student Program, the internship program provides on-the-job training, typically during the summer.
Within Public Affairs, interns could work on projects such as:

Corporate Reputation and Branding
Customer & Business Event Planning
Digital and Social Media
Employee Communications
Executive Communications
Issues Management and Crisis Communications
Making a real contribution to the Company, interns complete challenging projects under the guidance of supervisors and mentors. They may also participate in enriching development and networking events.
Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or a related field.
A minimum requirement for a US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis.
An overall minimum GPA of 3.000 at your current university (on a scale of 4.000) is required
Reliable attendance is an expectation of every Dow employee, therefore reliable transportation is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
