As the Process Automation Engineer with a company that is focused on addressing many of the worlds most challenging problems, youll be accountable for assisting with various control systems process automation project work. This role is perfect for an individual who has a solid understanding of DCS Process Control Systems, including software programming techniques and associated HMI systems programming. Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing facility and an understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals is essential. ROLES AND
Responsibilities:
Work as part of an integrated design team to meet project requirements and deliverables
Develop process control specification documents (PCSDs) using existing code as a guide
Perform software simulation of process control and HMI applications software
Work with the project team to integrate process control software into a final program for the target chemical manufacturing facility
Provide documentation of operational details (example: details specific to operator actions in responding to an alarm)
Provide support for DCS (Distributed Control System) commissioning and check-out
Work with the project team to provide facility startup coverage
Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering
5
years of experience in application and programming of process control systems and chemical manufacturing facility design and/or operation
Experience in design/implementation of various process control principles (Analog control (PID, cascade and constraint controllers), State Based Control Knowledge or Steady State Continuous Control, Alarms and Interlocks and Digital Logic Applications)
MOD5 experience is highly preferred (companys proprietary process automation computer platform); DCS control experience will be considered (Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell, ABB, Foxboro, etc.)
Knowledge or implementation experience in SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) desired
Solid communication, leadership, organizational and Microsoft Office skills
